Is PPF worth it on a Rivian?

For most Rivians, yes. They're built to be driven hard, and a single rock chip usually means repainting the whole panel, while film keeps the original factory paint intact.

Which parts of a Rivian should I protect?

At a minimum, the front bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors and headlights. Add the rocker panels, lower doors and door sills if you drive on gravel or trails, or choose full body if you take it off pavement.

Does PPF help if I take my Rivian off-road?

Yes. Film takes the scratches and scuffs from gravel, brush and branches instead of your paint, and light scratches in the film heal on their own. It won't stop deep gouges that cut through the film.

When should I get PPF on a new Rivian?

As soon as possible after delivery, before the first chips appear. If any panel has been repainted, the film has to wait until that paint has fully cured.

Can I put ceramic coating over PPF on my Rivian?

Yes. Film manufacturers including 3M say ceramic coating can be applied on top of paint protection film, and it makes the film slicker and easier to wash. Install the film first, then the coating.

Clear PPF is nearly invisible and preserves your factory gloss. Stealth PPF turns glossy paint into a smooth satin finish. Both protect against rock chips, scratches, and road debris.

Can I combine paint protection film and ceramic coating?

Yes. Ceramic coating can be applied over paint protection film for extra gloss, water beading, and easier maintenance.
